On 7 May 2016, 28 Deaf seniors, volunteers and staff had the opportunity to come together to do meaningful thing for the community- delivering meals to the frail elderly at their homes in Toa Payoh.
For the first time deaf
clients from TOUCH Silent Club (TSC) and beneficiaries with Intellectual
Disability from TOUCH Centre for Independent Living and TOUCH Ubi Hostel
combined to participate in one sports event. This is an effort to raise deaf
youths to rise beyond their disability to serve the beneficiaries with ID and develop
them to be compassionate volunteers through the activities planned by
volunteers from TSC and students from Singapore University of Technology and
Design (SUTD) and Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT).
