HIGHLIGHTS

DEAF GOT TALENT (19 DEC‘09)
TOUCH Silent Club’s Christmas event, “Deaf Got Talent”, saw 100 participants including Deaf clients, their families and hearing friends gathering for a time of fun and talent showcasing.  The highlight of this event was a ‘Deaf Got Talent!’ show where the Deaf had the opportunity to showcase their talent such as hip-hop dancing, song-signing, drama and mime. Congratulations to the following winners of Deaf Got Talent:-

– Winner, Ronald Oliver Batchelor who performed a mime and runner up Eileen Aw Ai Fung who performed a song in sign language.

Our Deaf clients also had the opportunity to socialise and were involved in giving back to community by donating food items and participating in the Most Decorative Hamper activity where they decorated food hampers which were then donated to the elderly clients of TOUCH Home Care.

THE ART OF MAKE-UP (21 NOV '09)

On 21 November 2009, Saturday, a class of 19 excited Deaf ladies attended a make-up course “The Art of Make-up” conducted by a free-lance make-up artist, Winnie, with sponsorship of cosmetics from i nouvi. This is part of the L.I.V.E! programme which aims to develop the Deaf socially.  They learnt about skin care and the types of make-up suitable for the colour of their skin. By the end of the course, the beautifully made up ladies learnt methods of beautifying themselves and also made friends with other participants.

FAMILY DUCKTOUR (14 NOV '09)
20 Deaf families came together for a meaningful family bonding time building creative duck boats through recycled materials and playing the puzzles. In addition they went on to enjoy the DuckTour ride where they learned more about our homeland Singapore.
