PARENTS SUPPORT GROUP: PARENTS’ DAY AT ART LOFT
(5 JUNE '10)
It was Parents’ Day with a difference for 23 Deaf parents and their children. Silent Club organised a unique art & craft session cum tea for the families to bond. The parents were pleasantly surprised when their children presented them with appreciation gifts. Congratulations to a Deaf parent, Eileen Aw & her son who won the Best Dressed Family contest!

ACTIVE SENIORS GROUP: FISH FARM TOUR (8 MAY ‘10)
20 active Deaf seniors had a first hand experience fishig for prawns at a fish farm. The drizzle failed to dampen their mood as volunteers went round assisting them with the finer techniques of”prawning”. Some proceeded to relax in the fish spa, thoroughly enjoying themselves that afternoon.

COURSES

 

SIGN LANGUAGE COURSE
TOUCH Silent Club's foundational sign language course, known as Sign Language for Everyone, is organised with beginners in mind. Participants learn the basics of sign language as signed locally. Generic and modular sign language courses are held regularly to raise the awareness level of the public about the Deaf and their needs and to promote integration.

Our job is to help you to find a job.
Believing that every Deaf deserves the opportunity to maximise his/her potential and lead a life of dignity within society, Silent Club has a comprehensive service to assist Deaf secure jobs. We source and develop a pool of prospective employers and place the deaf with these organisations accordingly. We provide follow-up service. Our staff accompany and interpret for the Deaf at job interviews.
